  5. Hi guys,

Just to update those who I contacted regarding the balls that these should be leaving us shortly so keep an eye on the post over the next few days.

We would love to hear your feedback on this thread so if you could take them to the course and short game areas (if available) and do a side by side comparison with your usual ball and post your thoughts here.

    Kind regards

Hi Luke, titleist loyalist and booked in for ts fitting next Friday at st Ives.

Happy to test and write a comparison if you need any more testers. Have used prov1x for years and keeps getting better.

    Thanks

    Liversedge,

A big thank you to Luke for the opportunity to test the new Proto balls.

    2019 Proto testing
Managed to dodge the rain and played 18 holes with both Proto balls and my current balls, srxn soft feel / cally super soft.
    Driving
All balls felt good off the face and went similar length
    Long/Mid irons
Red proto had firmer feel and slightly higher launch both red/black went similar length to current balls
    Wedges
Proto red was a little firmer but both Proto balls had good control
    Chipping
Both Proto balls had better control with a little spin, better feeling.
    Putting
Both Proto balls felt nice the red a little harder, both better than current balls

After 18 holes both Proto balls had little or no marks visible

Will submit another test report when next round played

    Thank you once again

    Kind Regards

    Hi TT,

I was lucky enough to find a proto few weeks back. Last weekend I used the chance to test this alongside the current pro v. From what I found was the durability was improved and speed and spin were up also much less movement in the wind.

I happily give further feedback if I was to receive a white box.

This ball and TS could be a formidable combo...

A sleeve of prototype balls arrived yesterday, will be taking them to the course and trying them out on Sunday. We've got a short game practice area at our club so will try them out against my current V1's and will report back.

Thanks again Luke, appreciate the opportunity. It's clear to see why Titleist is so serious about the balls when they give us humble amateurs the chance to test them as well as the Pro's.

Seems the balls are making their way out, any early feedback from testers yet?

My mate has been raving about them, he reckons his distance is up without any compromise in other areas of performance. Especially with his new TS3 Driver

No luck for me....a few years back I got them twice in a row....not feeling the Titleist love anymore LOL
  14. Wouldn’t mind testing a new ball to see if any different to the Pro V 1 x I am using at the moment.

Would be very happy to test some of the new Proto balls, currently not a Titleist ball user so would be good to see what I am missing & if I will gain form a change to a Titleist ball.

Lovely little surprise from the postman this morning, two white sleeves of 2019 protos #teamtitleist
  18. Titleist were kind enough to send me a sleeve of each of the Pro V1 and V1x.
I played with the ProV1 today and although the weather was very cold so as to make comparisons of spin and distance all but impossible the ball felt good, did not scuff and appears a bit whiter than last years model and so more visible.
I gave one of each to my son to test, he is cat 1 so that will test their durability, his wedges wreck havoc on the casing.
I have kept one of each back to do a comparison test when the weather is a bit warmer.
Now if Titleist were to bring out a yellow Pro V1 that would be my perfect ball.
I have been using the yellow AVX and it stands out much better against the leaden winter sky.
  19. Are these the white sleeves you be talking about?

I feel super lucky to have a sleeve of each!

The flight on the 2019proto is super high which imo is great but I've noticed a lot saying their not a fan of the high ball flight and prefer the prov1x but I haven't had a chance to test the x so I can't comment yet.

Almost cried yesterday morning when I opened a package from the postie, two sleeves of #2019proto superb, thanks Titleist, the really sad news, I lost one on 14 yesterday, gutted, felt like I'd lost my first born lol.

So far I've played 2 rounds with the proto 2019 balls, having mixed results. The black feels softer but flys lower and the red firmer but higher. I would like the softer and higher combo. Distance for red is same as my normal ProV1x 2018 ball but the black is definitely longer. Still little inconsistent as I'm trying to get used to my TS3 driver. Spin and stop appear similar. I'm playing Fuerteventura Golf Club again over next 4 days so will compile a better report after full 6 rounds.

My playing partner is a confirmed Cally boy who is showing major interest in my TS3 as I'm am now out hitting him by 12-15 yards.
