  1. Since Titleist sent me a sleeve of each of their new Pro V balls and I am currently working my way through a box of yellow AVXs, I was wondering whether we amateurs could better use these three offerings to our advantage.
The Professionals have a one ball rule, which does not apply to us amateurs. therefore perhaps we should not be picking a "ball for life" but instead using all of their differing performance attributes depending on conditions.
I suggest Pro V1X down the wind, AVX into the wind to maximise carry and run elements on long holes and Pro V1 on calm short holes.
Titleist could also consider selling selection box dozens.
Bearing in mind that as amateurs we are the biggest variable in any test.

You need to get out and test those Protos

I've used Prov1 on front 9 and AVX on back 9 … And I have when there's been no wind decided to use up the ProV's I have keep my AVX's for comps...

I am a 'ball for life' type playing the DT Trusoft however I think the selection box idea is a great idea and a real winner ! Something for Titleist to consider.

Took the red balls (presume they're Pro V1x) out on Sunday. Was really lucky with the weather considering it was December 2nd as it was very mild so wasn't expecting a drop off in distance etc.

Started with some chipping on the practice area, felt a bit more 'clicky' than my normal Pro V1 but seemed to spin and check up just as much which surprised me as I was expecting a 'harder' ball not to spin so much around the greens.

On the course I lasted 16 holes before dumping it in the water!!
Biggest change I found was the higher ball flight over my Pro V1, it felt the same off the face on both woods and irons but seemed to have a higher launch off my 917 which I need and still went the same distance. I actually had a chance to hit the X and V1 a couple of times side by side and the launch on the x is definitely higher so for someone who doesn't launch very high these are seriously worth considering.

Thanks TT for the chance to try them.

Thank you Team Titleist for sending me the 2019 Proto balls, I really do feel part of the Team now.

I have saved using thse until my home course was back on full failways and greens, today was that day.

Playing off 13 my swing might not be as repetative as some but I felt the ball was slightly firmer than my usual Pro V 1, on the plus side I appeared to be achieving a higher flight than usual, a thing I usually struggle with. I would say that the ball flew slightly longer than usual but with the low temprature here in Glasgow I would be interested how much longer it would travel in warmer conditions. Approach shots to green stopped pretty much as usual but there appeared to be more check when playing around the greens.

Once again thank you for including me in this test, I hope it will be the first of many.
