I played a round with these and was quite pleased. I'm 3 handicap. I usually play the ProV1x and these were pretty comparable. I feel like the ball flight was a little flatter on long shots....pretty comparable on mid irons/wedges. I don't feel like they were as soft as the V1x off the putter head but pretty close. Good bite on the greens. Ultimately most shots seemed a hair straighter (slightly lower spin?) and a few yards longer. I would probably prefer these over the V1x by a slim margin due to straighter/longer flight.

Recieved my prototype balls two weeks ago in the mail. Due to the weather and work, I finally was able to play a few rounds this week with them. The prototype ball had a solid feel to them on impact and good ball flight. However, when I compared the new prototype ball to the one I receive two years ago, the two year old prototype had a much better overall feel to it! I enjoyed the opportunity to test the prototype balls, I just wish that Titleist would let the testers know what ball they received, as I would play the prototype ball from two years ago.

Thanks for the golf balls.I tested them last 2 weeks.I'm assuming they are PRO V1 .Not sure.I live in NY Hudson Valley.Temp. was45-55 deg. when I played.I am 14 Hcp. age 71.The ball was soft, good spin.My short game was great, better than NXT Tour which I usually play.I sliced a couple of shots because of more spin,I think.Putted great,Iron play was good.(straight).Thanks for the opportunity to test the balls.

  4. I was able to play a couple practice rounds with the test golf ball and srxn tri-speed, and compare them shot for shot. Distance of tee was about 5 yards longer for the test golf balls. Wedges and mid-irons were a higher trajectory with the test golf balls. Both golf balls stopped within a few inches of pitch marks on greens. But I was playing in extremely wet and soft conditions, so it was difficult to check the spin rate of both balls.
  5. Finally got to get out and play with the test balls and they were wonderful. Feel, distance, everything seemed to work well. They were a little longer than the ball I normally play and straighter too. Like the feel around the green and putting. Seems like a very good ball.
  6. Mike,

What a ball! I would argue this may be the best ball Titleist has produced yet with feel, durability, and spin control. Rattled the pin, checked the ball, released the ball as visualized on multiple occasions. Hit two trees and a bunker rake without a mark. Had to snap-hook a ball into the fence to mark the skin, only to see no discernible impact on the skin of the ball to mar the putt.

    Congratulations, Team! You've done it!
  7. Waiting to the improvement on the range for a 3W from the 910 to the 917.

Thank you Titleist for the two sleeves of prototype balls. (Red and Black) I was impressed with the feel of both and the durability of the covers. Enjoyed testing them and just submitted my feedback. Appreciate the opportunity to help make the #1 ball in golf even better through your R&D testing program. Is there a way for me to know which ball i was testing?
  9. The test (black) ball I got flies straighter, feels more firm, goes the same distance, optics are the same at the current ProV1. Can you make this ball in yellow or some brighter white for sight impaired golfers like myself? Overall, I think this is an improved ball, with great feel around the green.

Received my test sleeve about a week ago.Weather has been lousy since then.Played them today in a 15 mph wind and 45 degree temp. I've been playing NXT Tour spin most of the year,as well as Pro V's. I found the new ball to be 5-7 yards longer off the tee and about the same off hybrids. Irons felt very solid, not much difference in distance.Off the putter ball sounds clicky, but putts well. Also feels firmer and a little clicky off the driver(may be do to the cold temp). All in all I found it to be fun to hit, also seem to have less sidespin. Wish we could get them earlier in the fall when temps are warmer.I'm sure it would perform even better then.

Just had a chance to play the test balls today. Did not see a very big performance difference between the test balls and the ProV1's I currently play. Good distance and feel off the driver and great control around the green.

Received my sleeve about two weeks ago. Played the ball several times comparing it with a Bridgestone Tour B330. The prototype played like a soft Pro V1x, not a lot of spin and better than average distance. However, the B330 was consistently longer by a few yards off the driver & irons. Overall, the prototype is a very good ball.

THANK YOU for including me in your test... PRO V1 (red) "TEST" balls. After playing the ball for 8-10 rounds, I found the distance to be about the same as my current Pro V1-X..... as well as the distance with the fairway woods, hybrids and irons. My control with the shorter irons 7-SW seems to be improved with the test ball. Feel with the putter is also about the same. Durability seems to be a little better. Thanks again.. john young
  14. Played three rounds in the past four days. Soft conditions given heavy rain last week but the test balls performed well. I found them to be softer off the face, especially with the putter and around the greens. I really liked the feel. I usually play the ProV1X and these seemed to spin more like a ProV1, especially with shorter irons.

As always, thanks for the prototypes! Have played two rounds; despite the great recent weather, my rounds were played in chilly, low 50s weather, so do not think I can fully assess the carry/distance and long game feel. That said, I was very impressed with the iron/short game feel. I thought the feel on 50 yards and in was even more of what i want...ability to spin when needed and be confident in carry/roll (or lack of roll). My guess is that the prototype is a bit firmer on long game shots, but need warmer weather to fully compare. Putter feel was fabulous and not noticeably different, though would say on longer putts it might have been a bit softer (which i like). Would love to play this ball more :)
  16. I just played the Titleist test balls I received last Tuesday with the probably last 70+ degree day in Ohio. The balls were great. They felt a little firmer than a ProV1. With my fast swing speed (105+) I was able to hit some great shots with these. I had a 350 yard drive. Everyone couldn't believe how far I hit it. Granted I usually hit it around 300, these golf balls felt like they went straighter and farther. I liked them more than the Velocity ones even. Thanks for letting me try these out!

I was finally able to make a round and test my new Titleist balls I received in the mail. I loved the feel, it especially was evident off the tee and with my woods and long range irons. It seemed as though I was hitting the ball higher than normal through all my clubs, which was preferred when dropping one in from close range to make the ball sit more. The yardage seemed to carry a little longer than what I typically hit, the irons is where I noticed it the most, with an average of 5-8 yards more than what I typically assess my irons to be. Putting it seemed to be more consistent for me.

Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to try out some fun new toys. I hope to enjoy some more rounds next year with them as I still have 2 left.

I was finally able to get out on the course yesterday. The ball flight seemed to be a little better. It felt more solid on the club face and I was able to get a little more distance. I also noticed on the greens it seemed to land softer and had good roll off the putter. Look forward to testing more items. Thank you for the opportunity

Ok so i always enjoy testing the new ball. What i thought with this ball was that it had more spin and it felt a little softer. I found that on my wedge shots it was nice bc it was a little softer and spun just a tad more. Although i thought with the driver it was just a little to much spin and it was a little shorter. This years ball is firm and is great in the wind. The new ball i felt was a great ball but when compressed hard on knockdown shots had just a little more ballooning problem due to the increased spin on the ball. Full shots downwind with this ball were long. Just seemed to jump and fly. If i could rate this ball on a score 1 to 10. I think i would give it a 7. Its a good ball but the latest version is the best ball i have played with around the greens and with mid range wedge shots. Spins left to right and right to left. Stops on a dime and into the wind is a phenomenal ball!! I will stock up for 2 years and wait for the next 1. Thanks again for letting me test your ball.

The sleeve of test balls I received performed as well as other Titleist balls I've played, no better or worse. Thanks for the opportunity,
