  1. The sleeve of prototype balls were extremely durable! I hit a few trees off the tee and there wasn't a single scuff on the golf ball. I also have had a problem in the past with ProV's shredding when hitting wedges... these held up perfectly after hitting a wedge. I would definitely hit these if they went to market. Great job Titleist!
  2. The test balls I received looked a felt great. I liked how solid they felt of my driver, woods, and irons. I also enjoyed the feel they offered on and around the green. I got very good carry and distance with my driver. The balled seemed to pop off the club and just keep going. I liked the distance the ball offered, and I also really enjoyed the touch it offered with my wedges.

Received my Titleist test balls a couple of weeks ago, and tried them out for about 3 rounds. I was very pleased with the performance overall. My driver shots seemed to be a little longer and somehow, straighter. Irons and wedges didn't seem too different for me, but they worked well. I typically play the NXT tour, but these balls were great.

I apologize for the late reply, was out of town for business and was finally able to use the test balls sent to me. Was super excited to receive the package and try them along side pro V1x's in my bag. I really enjoyed the feel and distance off the tee. I got fitted for the first time this year for a titleist driver and purchased the custom driver through golf galaxy. This combination has allowed me to hit 295yrd consistent off the tee. I couldn't tell much of a difference from about 100yrd in from this years pro V1x's, but I really like the control from both balls. I overall enjoyed this experience and the opportunity to get to try a new product! I hope I am able to get another chance in future!

    Thank you titleist!
  5. I finally got to play the new pro v1 under somewhat better conditions. I found that the new ball flys a little farther and somewhat straighter than before. It seems to react a little better from around the green approaches. Putting seems like to be better slightly more accurate. Thank you Titleist for allowing me to test your new ball. I look forward to doing this again . Great job as always. I have always played Titleist and will never change. You guys rock.

Finally got to play a few rounds to get a good feel of the test balls. They played comparable to the Pro V1. They were within 5 yard + or - on my drives. Good feel on the approach and pitch shots, they seemed to hold the greens well. Only negative with ball was with putting. Hard to describe but my putts sounded odd and were consistently short compared to the Pro V1. I took myself to the putting green and was getting same results. I had a friend put 6 balls down so I couldn't see the differences, two were test balls and as soon as I putted I could tell which ones were the test balls. Hope this helps but for now I'll stick with my Pro V1s.

I received a sleeve of test balls - I believe they were Pro VI. I was finally able to get out and play with them for the first time yesterday, 11/19/16 and I have to say I was really impressed with this ball. I liked how the ball performed and felt with my wedges. Also, the ball performed very well off the tee w/ the driver. It's a durable ball - I only needed one ball the entire round and it held up very well. All in all, a great ball!

    Hi:
I found the test balls to have a firmer feel than my current proV. They were a bit hot off the putter and didn't bite as I expected. I'm currently a 2.2 index. I played the test ball on the front 9 and my regular ProV on the back 9. I was a few 4 over on the front and played 1 over on the back. The front usually plays easier. I prefer the current ProV.

Played the test balls yesterday. I noticed no discernible difference between them and current balls. They performed well around the green and putted great. I thought last years prototype balls jumped off the club face a little more.

Received test golfballs a week after you asked for results. Played with them and feel they traveled further then current cally of TM golf balls currently in use. Could not detect any better roll or accuracy on the green. Have never been able to hit a high, spin shot to the green so can not state an opinion. Ball seemed very durable as one ball lasted three rounds. Unfortunately lost the other two. That is golf. Ha!
  12. Thanks for the sleeve of "Test" balls. It was definitely fun to try them.

For me they fly higher off the tee, and landed softer on the green than the existing PV1X. Putting and short game performance was excellent as always.

I think they are more playable given the improved stopping action. I appreciate the opportunity to test them out.

    Hi Mike -

Dream come true, to test the prototype sleeve of balls for Titleist.

So far, have enjoyed the balls, and they seem pure on most shots. Had 1 iron shot that seemed a little crisper/firmer than the normal Pro-V 1. No issues around the green.

Thanks again & keep up the good work -

    Hi Mike & Co -

Last year I enjoyed the article about the history of the Titleist script.

I always admired the Numbers Titleist uses as well (balls), and wondered if you'd consider using that style of numbers, on your Irons - It's distinctive, stylish, and I think it's a good fit for your identity.

  15. I finally had the chance to test the sleeve of balls sent to me. It was in San Antonio Texas last week, the conditions were wet and windy. The balls were Black Titleist with test written on the side. They performed very well with the iron play holding great on the greens and putting true. Off the tee I noticed less spin, especially side spin so I was happy with the results.

If I had to ponder a guess, they performed like Titleist Velocity balls

I tried the balls in less than favorable Northeast fall/cold & windy weather. The ball seems to be longer then the current ProV1x on every club. It also feels better off the putter.
  17. I received the Titleist Test Golf Balls and took them to the course. Keep in mind that here in Wisconsin the season is almost over. I played approximately 7 rounds with the balls in weather running from the high 40's to high 60's. The balls that I received were remarkable around the greens. The ball holding the greens was remarkable. I normally play the Pro V1 and the test ball seemed to actually respond better for approach shots. From a distance of 150 yards and in I was able to hit and hold the green with only about a 10 foot release. I never have been able to spin a ball enough to have it come back but, a 10 foot release I can live with.
Driving distance didn't seem to be any better than the Pro V1 but maybe that was because of the temperature I was playing in. I would purchase these balls based on the action around the greens alone. Thanks for letting me be part of the trial.

I record three test balls...a month or so ago. All black markings on them. I've hit on course maybe 15 drives with them; and 10-15 irons. I haven't done a thorough test. My main take-away is the feel on drives. I'm 56 years old, have played golf now for 44 years; my swing speed on driver is..I think...around 100, not so fast. I hit drives about 240 or so.
The ball at impact feels...I can describe it other than, heavy...has more inertia. Especially notable with driver, but I think a little with irons too. And the flight with driver is lower than other balls I play. My sense is that the spin rate less. A more thorough check on my part would have me in a nearby Golfsmith with Trackman devices.
That's all I have so far. Weather getting wetter and colder; not sure when I'll be out again.

I got some prototypes but I am not sure which model. They were labeled 'Test' and had small embossed initials in two of the dimples ("JD"). I would love to know when/if they are released to the market, I would buy them for sure. Distance, accuracy and control all improved as measured by my Game Golf system.

    Mike,
Living up here in the upper Midwest it took some time to get in 4-5 rounds in with the new ball but today I finished my 5th. I was sent the ProV and found these to have a more penetrating flight through the wind. Slightly less spin but enough around the green to perform many different shots. When do these go on sale because I only have one left from my sleeve!!
    Thanks,
    Jason
