Finally had a chance to give the test balls a try. Strong spin on short irons, less on longer clubs. Distance nearly identical as the ProV that I tested them against. Being that it is November in central Illinois, the greens were not a good test for putting. Thanks Titleist for sending the test balls!

Mike- I received the test balls about two weeks ago. I used them today and they were fantastic! I consistently picked-up about 10-15 yards more off the drives, out-driving my buddy who always hits longer than me. Not today. In addition, the ball has a soft feel and was very "sticky" on the greens, often 'checking' which normally doesn't happen for me even with Vokey wedges. It also had a nice feel with the putter, and overall I cut about 4 strokes from my score from the course I play frequently. I'd very much like to know, eventually, what ball I tested as I want to buy a truckload! Thanks for the opportunity to test. My golf buddy was impressed with my noticeable improvement in game today and it definitely was a result of longer hits and better putting. Excellent ball!

I was very impressed with the balls I received. I played my ball and the test ball. On every hole I was 15 to 18 yards ahead of the ball I play which I thought to be long compared to my fellow players. The next thing I liked was the added height, l was hitting my driver and irons higher which I was trying to get and not finding help until now. The third was the click sound of the ball which I like for reinforcement as to the quality of my strike. Thanks for the opportunity to try this ball. Please email what it was so I can run out and get them.

Hi Mike, Thanks for including me. Sleeve I received are a black 1. I assume a Pro-V1. Not yet able to play a round to give full feedback. But, on the practice green I seem to notice a little more check up on chips. Also notice if I chip across the ball from outside (an occasional swing flaw) the ball spins a little to the right on landing with the next bounce a direction correctional. I thought I imagined that. So I hit several that way on purpose with the same result....closer to intended line roll.

  5. Great ball. Durability gets better and better in every model. The biggest problem i have had with previous models is the cover getting torn up on wedge shots as i use raw finishes and the rust tears it up. Playing these prototypes, the cover has defiantly held up a lot better. Performance from tee to green is pretty comparable to previous models, aint broke don't fix it with the pro v1. The other area where i have wanted to see improvement is with the ball on the green. wasn't a fan of the 2014 model on the green, love the new feel and sound coming off the putter

It was a great surprise to see a sleeve of Test golf balls in the mail.

I found the Test balls to have a similar feel in the mid and long irons. I noticed a difference in short game control and (as ridiculous as this sounds) improved\different feel off the putter. I wish I could say the Test ball was longer off the tee with the driver and 3 wood, but to be honest I found the distance to be nearly identical to my current ProV1x.

    Thank you for the opportunity.

The new pro V1 seems to be longer, softer, spins great on the greens and is more durable. Played two rounds with it and very pleased with the results. Even had a hole out for eagle yesterday. Ball tracks great in the air. Gave one to a friend and he felt the same way. Thanks for the opportunity to test them.

I really liked these new test balls. Seemed to be able to get more spin than with the current ProV1 that I play. Cover lasted for 2 rounds or more before they showed significant sign of wear. Loved this ball and thanks for allowing me to take part in this testing.

Received my protos last week kinda late in the season but made it work on November 8th weather was slightly breezy and 63 degrees found that the flight and trajectory of the ball off the driver was lower than normal and I even did a comparison with a cally soft and out drove that cally by 22 yards .Off the short irons it felt great and reacted just as I hoped . With the cally I shot 38 front nine at Oneonta country club ,with the titleist I shot34 and was more confident with every shot.Thank you for the opportunity to try something that no one else is playing right now . Would love the chance to help out in the future. Bottom line the ball gets a AAA+++

I felt the ball felt a little softer off the driver and flew slightly further. The irons and wedges made the ball fly slightly higher and land soft. Also seemed to have a nice feel with the putter
  12. Titleist Prov1x has always been the ball i use most....thus saying, I am a 10 handicap by my GHIN. I love the Prov1x but this prototype was better in every way, in small areas. The distance was only 5 +yards, but it felt like the prototype jumped of the face of any club i hit....had to adjust my club because of it.

This past weekend, I was able to play the test balls I received. Overall, they performed really well from tee to green. I compared it to this years PROV-1X and I found that this ball seemed to jump off the club head better than the PRO-1X especially off of the Driver and long irons. Both balls were very similar around and on the green. Thank you for letting me be part of the test!

There is a definite Pro V feel around the green, yet off the tee a distinct different sound. Its kind of like a harder sound, but not a hard feel. Play-ability seems to mimic the Pro V1, however. The distance off the tee was noticeably longer. I can forego the different sound for the distance gain. If you want more distance this is the ball!

Tried out the new ProV1 protos and was impressed with the extra distance off the tee and great check on approach shots. Thanks Titleist!

The test balls came hot off the clubs. But unlike the Pro V 1x they didn't quite have the back spin I like. Still a good ball.
  17. Thank you to Titleist for sending me a sleeve of test golf balls. I have now played 72 holes with the 3 balls and did not loose one, only took them out of play due to wear. This ball was very durable and certainly provided the distance, control and feel I have come to expect from a Titleist ball, especially the new ProV1x. I would love to have more for sure! Thank you Titleist for this opportunity.
  18. Received my prototype balls a week ago and couldn't wait to try them, unfortunately it's dark in Scotland when I get home from work. Managed two games at the week end though and as the course was quiet had the chance to hit a few shots at each hole to compare. Normal ball is V1x and that is what the prototype was.
Test ball seemed to hang better in the air off the driver and carry a bit further, long irons were very good, hit a few 4 irons off the sweet spot (unusual for me) and they left the club face like a rocket, didn't seem to spin of hard hit long irons.
Short irons were very similar but soft shots appeared to spin better.
Test ball feels softer and quieter off putter, I like it and would play it right now. None lost yet so will give one to a friend who is Titleist mad and is a good ball striker to see how he gets on with it.
Temperature low here, was about 42 deg f when I played, look forward to trying over the next few weeks when temperatures are low, is it lower compression, if so may be great for Scottish winter.

This is my second time getting to test a sleeve. So I live in Wisconsin and I just got around to playing the test balls. Now it's mid November...so the balls are not flying as far. That being said I was very surprised and happy that the balls I used carried as far now as In the summertime. I actually put acouple of drives in places I haven't reached in years. I really enjoyed the softer feel coming of the face of my driver. For me the ball reacted similarly around the green...it did have a very nice feel coming off the putter face. Overall I really liked the black inked balls...would like to find out what they were. I normally play NXT-S. Thanks for choosing me again...I look forward to being on a test panel again.

Really playing these test balls. Used the Black labeled balls. Second time I have done this. Softer feel off the driver face...nice jump in distance...I 62 so it's all relative...I don't smash a ball like I used too, but when flushed I got 10 to 15 more yards. I didn't find all that much difference when hitting my irons...maybe a little higher but ball stopped nicely. Very nice feel off the putter face...really liked that part of the test balls. Overall, very nice ball...what like to know what type it was. Thanks for choosing me again for the "field" test.
